Launch aerea 2.0 and usb dongle

Amsterdam, 29 October 2008 - Today, Worldmax, wireless telecom provider, introduces the USB WiMAX-adapter. With the WiMAX USB dongle, Amsterdam citizens can benefit from the first high speed wireless broadband internet network in Europe based on WiMAX 802.16e-technology. The USB dongle is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP and Vista (pc's and laptops).

Faster: aerea 2.0

WiMAX-technology is developing and Worldmax will keep investing in their WiMAX network in order to offer customers all the benefits from these innovations. With the introduction of the USB dongle Worldmax also introduces a faster WiMAX product: aerea 2.0. The new prepaid balance offers a download speed of 2 Mbit/sec., while the upload speed is 256 Kbit/sec. Aerea 2.0 is an expansion of the existing prepaid balance offerings:  aerea 0.5 and 1.0.

No data limits

"Contrary to other providers of wireless internet, aerea has no limitations. We have no data limits, or data speed limits". We offer a 'fair use policy' that is similar to what we are used to with DSL- or cable internet", according to Benno Kuyper, Senior Product Manager at Worldmax. "To demonstrate the capabilities of our network, we are challenging Amsterdam citizens to download 10 GB in 1 day."

The download contest starts on 29 October at 16 hrs. The participant succeeding in downloading as much data as possible using the aerea network in one day, has a change to win an ASUS EEE pc 1000H. Participating is free for the first 20 contestants. More information on the contest can be found at www.aerea.nl/downloaden.

Aerea is available from €14, 95 per month. Price of the USB dongle is € 89, 95. Customers that would like to have access to the network for just one day can check out the current tariffs via http://www.aerea.nl/.
